Dear Unborn

Oh, I can’t wait

For the time when your baby hands are finally able to explore my face, to see the curiosity in your gaze

For the time when you start to toddle about, figuring out how to use those chubby little legs

For when you begin to babble and coo – for you to first call me mama

For every morning I wake up to your cries and get to cradle you in my arms until you feel safe again

For every night I bundle you up in your cot and watch you slowly close your dozy eyes

To see you and your father bond together – my two loves, my whole world!

Oh, I can’t wait

For you to meet your family, and receive all of their love, care and affection

For you to start talking and walking, running and dancing, playing and laughing

For me to get to know you and watch you grow, for your wonderful personality to develop and become strong

For me to keep you safe and protected until you are the one keeping me safe and protected

Oh, how I really can’t wait

To be there for you always, my love, my heart, my darling

My blessed little baby

You’re inside me for now. Until the time is right

InshaAllah.

And even if Allah never allows you to come to me in my time here, and I don’t get to meet you,

If that’s what is written for us – don’t worry

Because Allah knows what is best – you were not made for this world then. The heavens will be your home.

And I will spend the rest of my life doing my best to be worthy of Jannah

So I can be with you.

We’ll be together soon, InshaAllah.

I’m waiting for you, my love ❤

So this is a poem I wrote recently and as you can probably tell, I get really bad baby fever! To all those who yearn to be mothers one day too, and to those expecting, may Allah bless you with beautiful babies and a whole lifetime of happiness with them, Ameen 🙂
